Work and experience
With five years of hands-on experience in the carpentry and building trade, I’m proud to be part of the skilled team at Dan Cook Carpentry & Building Ltd. My role spans all stages of our projects, from the first dig to the final finishing touch, and I love being involved every step of the way.
I hold a Level 3 Site Carpentry qualification with Distinction, and I’m especially passionate about custom builds and timber frame structures. There’s something deeply satisfying about shaping raw materials into something lasting and beautiful.
Favourite project
One of the highlights of my career so far has been working on a timber-frame, four-bedroom house in Manaton, with stunning views over Dartmoor. This was a true start-to-finish project that showed everything I love about this job.
What sets our team apart is the camaraderie on site. There’s always good banter, and that team spirit keeps motivation high and standards even higher. I take real pride in my craftsmanship and always aim for results that exceed client expectations. For me, customer satisfaction is as important as structural integrity.
Getting to know you
My journey into carpentry started young, building with my dad and discovering how rewarding it is to work with your hands. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors, camping, cooking, or occasionally helping with a tree job or log delivery. And for something a bit unexpected? I make a pretty great cheesecake.
